If you have furniture that’s too big or too heavy to lift, use a cart. Many different furniture dollies are available in the marketplace for rent and purchase. If possible find a dolly with soft, inflatable wheels. For added protection, especially if using a dolly with hard wheels, place blankets or cardboard across your path to further protect your floor.
Inexpensive and simple to install, felt pads can save you the expense and worry of repairing or replacing your hardwood floor. Attaching quality felt pads to the legs of your furniture will allow for easy movement, without risking damage.
